Claire Burrows

Private Cello Lessons, Cello Group Classes, Chamber Music
An exceptional former student at the Algoma Conservatory Claire Burrows went on to received a Masters degree in cello performance from the University of Ottawa, studying with the outstanding pedagogue Paul Marleyn and a Bachelors in Music Performance at the University of Toronto, where she studied with renowned Canadian cellist Shauna Rolston. She also attended the Casalmaggiore International Music Festival in Italy and the Toronto Summer Music Academy where she had the privilege of working with the world-renowned cellist Janos Starker. Awards include the Laura Kinton Muir Prize and the Susan Cale Girard Award (2007) for excellence in cello performance and scholarship at the University of Toronto. Claire has also participated in many cello master-classes with noted cellists, including those held by John Kadz, Simon Fryer, Roberta Jensen, David Hetherington, Winona Zelenka and Amanda Forsyth. She is involved with both private and group cello classes, as well as with several professional music ensembles with other faculty at the Conservatory.
